Small Business of the Week: Detroit Dough

September 23, 2020

Detroiters, dreamers and dough lovers – that’s us. Founded by three African American millennials, Detroit Dough offers quality ready-to-eat dough. With an assortment of flavors of dough, we promise three things – our dough is always safe, delicious and ready-to-eat.

Starting with a dream of building a unique coffee and cookie dough bar in November 2017, Detroit Dough has since refined and outgrown their initial vision. Shortly after winning $6,000 in a local pitch competition, they held their first pop-up shortly after selling more than 800 cups of cookie dough. Since then Detroit Dough has:

  • Been featured in more than 15 local and national publications
  • Won the Samuel Adams’ Brewing the American Dream and Detroit Demo Day pitch competitions
  • Received the Spirit of Detroit award for their commitment and efforts to better the lives of Detroit residents
  • Sold more than 60,000 cups of Detroit Dough to cookie dough lovers across the Midwest

Detroit Dough worked with a DNEP team through Capstone MAP (BA453) at the Ross School of Business over the winter 2019 semester. You can find Detroit Dough at the Big House!
