28 business owners begin marketing projects with U-M students

September 19, 2022

A new cohort of businesses, mostly from Detroit’s east side, began work with U-M Ross students in Prof. Amy Angell’s marketing class, Consumer Behavior, this month. Businesses include restaurants, a mobile grocery store, retailers, a local farm/compost service, and an artists’ marketplace, among others. Nine of them are connected with Jefferson East, Inc. Over the course of the semester, students will conduct market, industry, and customer-specific research to help business owners identify their key customer segments.

In addition to receiving research data and recommendations, businesses will also receive a final deliverable that they can immediately use for their marketing, free of charge. The most frequently requested? Social media calendars, newsletter templates, or website news articles. Thank you to the business owners, who are giving MKT 313 students a chance to gain key consulting and marketing skills, and thank you students, for helping businesses use data to make marketing decisions!
