Diana Farell
I am the founding President and CEO of the JPMorgan Chase Institute. The mission of the JPMorgan Chase Institute is to help policymakers, businesses, and nonprofit leaders use better facts, real-time data, and thoughtful analysis to make smarter, data-driven economic decisions to advance world prosperity. The Institute is committed to conducting data-rich analyses, developing expert insights, and framing critical problems based upon its unique proprietary data, expertise, market access, and deep reserves of intellectual capital in service of the public good.
Previously, I was Director of McKinsey & Company and head of the McKinsey Center for Government, a global hub for research, collaboration, and innovation in government performance.
I have held the post of Deputy Director of the National Economic Council and Deputy Assistant to the President on Economic Policy at the White House. In this role, I led the White House inter-agency processes for a broad portfolio of economic initiatives, including financial regulatory reform, innovation and competitiveness, and the US auto industry restructuring.
Prior to my service in government, I was a Director of McKinsey & Company and was the global leader of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI). MGI’s mission is to help leaders in the commercial, public, and social sectors develop a deeper understanding of the evolution of the global economy and to provide a fact base that contributes to decision-making on critical management and policy issues.
I hold a BA in economics and social studies from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. I am a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bretton Woods Committee, the Pacific Council on International Policy, and a member of the World Economic Forum's Council on the Future of Government.
