Fernanda Nechio
Fernanda Nechio is the Deputy Governor for International Affairs and Corporate Risk Management at the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB).
Fernanda started her career in July, 2009 at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, where she took several positions at the Economic Research Department. Fernanda completed her PhD. and M.A. at Princeton University. Prior to that, she earned her master's and bachelor's degrees in economics at the Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has also served as a special-term lecturer at the Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro and at UC Berkeley.
Her main research interests are in the areas of International Finance and Monetary Macroeconomics, with focus on exchange rates, price setting, demographics, and monetary policy. She has published articles in top academic journals, such as the American Economic Review, the Journal of Monetary Economics, and the Journal of the European Economic Association.
